Before any contestant can compete in a pageant production they are required to attend all six pre-pageant workshops. The workshop topics are Attitude, Personal Development, Stage Presence, Emotions, Service, and Interviews. These workshops are of high importance because they prepare each contestant for what they will experience throughout their run and competition as a contestant. Contestants experience all different kind of emotions and they need to have a good attitude to represent themselves, their platform and RUP, they must master their stage presence to feel comfortable in front of judges and an audience, they need to understand the importance of service in their communities, and they must be prepared to answer tough interview questions. Also, contestants can become very emotional or depressed if they did not win a title or trophy and therefore, we prepare them to handle that with dignity and a healthy level of self-esteem intact. Furthermore, title winners must also be prepared for winning and all of the stress and excitement that comes with holding a title. That is why we have workshops beforehand. All preliminary contestants will be responsible for attending one workshop that includes all six topics combined because preliminaries are small pageants. The State and National contestants are required to attend all six separate workshops which can either be done online or in person at the Director's discretion.
